Some courses are available in the e-Learning section of my.scouting.org/ A login is required, but you may create a user account and view the courses. Registered BSA members may provide their member numbers as part of the user profile to receive training credit.

Youth Protection Training

- If you plan to attend Winter Camp, Twilight Camp, Webelos Residence Camp or any summer camp in Texas and to be a registered leader.

Leader Position-Specific Training

- Den Leader, Cubmaster, Pack Trainer, Pack Committee, Scoutmaster, Venturing Adviser, and Venturing, and Troop Committee

Supplemental Training

- Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, Weather Hazards, Climb On Safely, Trek Safely

Every Scout deserves a trained leader so take advantage of the online courses to help make your program safe and effective.

University of Scouting

For all adult leaders at any level of Scouting. Typically held in early January and held at SMU.

Wood Badge

Wood Badge,is the premier training program for all Scout leaders in the Boy Scouts of America. This includes all Cub Scout,Boy Scout,Varsity and Venturing Leaders,District and Council Committee members as well as Professional Scouters. Wood Badge is designed to train adult volunteers using the latest leadership skills and techniques. It is once in a life time training experience.

Circle Ten Council has adopted the national training program for all adult leaders. National Council of Boy Scouts of America has called the program a “training continuum,” to emphasize how all the parts of leader training fit together

Scouts deserve trained leaders and trained leaders deserve the best program possible

PHILMONT LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE

WHAT IS THE PHILMONT LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE?

Adults learn to internalize and practice their leadership skills in this action-packed backcountry conference. The conference hones the skills taught in Wood Badge for the 21st Century in an outdoor experiential learning environment. PLC underscores the values of Scouting,teamwork,and promotes the concepts of servant leadership. Open to Scouters in all programs.

Philmont Training Center

The Philmont Training Center (PTC) is the only national volunteer training center for the Boy Scouts of America. Since 1950, the PTC has provided a unique environment for training volunteer and professional leaders,and a fun family program for every member of the family. Each year,more than 6,000 Scouters and family members attend PTC.
