District Transitional Troop Needs Assessment

The Lone Star District is currently seeking your input to determine if there is a need for a Transitional Troop in our area. Scouts BSA is committed to serving all youth regardless of physical or mental capabilities or impairments. A Transitional Troop would provide additional support to Scouts who may not be ready to move directly into a traditional Scouting unit. Examples of Scouts who may benefit from a Transitional Troop include 1) Scouts crossing over from Cub Scouts who may not be ready to move directly into a traditional unit, and 2) Scouts with disabilities who may not be ready to move directly into a traditional unit.

Roundtable This Week, Thursday, April 4th, 7 pm

Why should you join us at Roundtable?

Roundtable gives leaders program ideas, information on upcoming events and trainings, and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts.

On the Cub Scout side of Roundtable ...

The Cub Scout break out will include ideas for summer fun with cub scouts.  Tired of the same summertime events?  Come be inspired to try something new this summer.

On the Scouts BSA side of Roundtable ...

The troop has a new Eagle! But what do you do after the COH? How are Eagles important to the troop? What are some ways to keep an Eagle engaged? What about the 18+ Eagle? We will have some practices that have worked for others and will also share best practices of those attending.
