The Boy Scout Roundtable will have a presentation about the nonprofit organization, Carry the Load and their new initiative Be the Flag.  Carry the Load was founded by two Navy Seal veterans in 2011, right here in Texas.  The organization was began as a way to bring back the true meaning of Memorial Day and to support all military and first responders.  It has grown to a nationwide initiative with hundreds of scouts participating across the country.  This past year, Carry the Load began an educational program called Be the Flag.  The purpose is to help teach young people flag history and etiquette.  Participants can receive kits that contain teaching materials, booklets and certificates free of charge.  It will be a great presentation by a great organization!

Roundtable, Thursday, January 10th

Circle 10 has put together a committee to look into possible district realignments to happen next year.  With all of the changes occurring with losing some units with the change in the LDS program and adding girl units, there may be a need to realign districts in order to provide the best programming. The council has asked each district to gather as much feedback as possible.  It will be submitted later this month. We are asking that leaders and parents alike attend Roundtable this Thursday evening to find out more information about the possible realignments and to gather their thoughts and opinions.  This will be a very important opportunity for us as a district to share our views with the council leadership.

CC  Hardin is our district rep on the council realignment committee. She will be making the presentation and taking feedback as the Roundtable topic.  If you are unable to attend but would like to provide some thoughts or suggestions, please email CC Hardin at  cjhardin@att.net.

Packs we are also holding a Twilight Camp Planning meeting before Roundtable at 6:45 pm.  We need someone from every pack.

Roundtable is the monthly training for every Scout leader held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2801 Eldorado Parkway, McKinney, TX.  Generally it is held on the first Thursday of the month (except for January 2019).
